Dr. Valerie Althouse - Director of Training
Valerie serves as the Director of Training for International Students (ISI). She spent 19 years in on-the-ground ministry with international students in New York City, most recently as the NYC Area Director where she supervised staff and church involvement. She now focuses her time on the equipping of all ISI staff for the work of the harvest among international students.
Valerie’s training includes the following: She has earned both a BS and MS in Biblical Studies, and holds a Doctorate in Ministry in Leadership in the Global Context. She is certified in Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Intelligence, Instructional Design, and in Leading Religious Diversity in Higher Education. She formerly taught a Praxis in Evangelism course for Alliance Theological Seminary, and currently enjoys speaking on the topics of Singleness, Chronic Pain, Leadership, Evangelism, and more.
Valerie is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Scott Althouse World Changers’ House, a nonprofit organization with the God-sized aim of acquiring building space in New York City for international student outreach and discipleship.
Valerie’s hobbies include vocal performance with her choir, time with family and friends, DIY home decor projects, time with Patches and Pumpkin (her cats!) and travelling pretty much anywhere in the world she hasn't yet visited!
